Squid Pepper Fry

Today we will try squid pepper fry.

Squid (medium size) - 1kg
Oil - 2 tablespoon
Salt- 1 pinch
Black pepper (grounded) - 1 teaspoon.
Onion-2 nos
Ginger-50gm
Garlic- 4 cloves.
Green chilli-2nos
Curry leaves- 1sprig
Tomato-1nos

How to prepare


  1. Clean and wash the squid properly. removing the violet colour skin also.
  2. Put a pinch of salt to the cleaned squid and mix gently and keep aside.
  3. Cut the Onion and slice it into thin pieces and keep aside.
  4. Cut the ginger and garlic to small thin pieces and keep aside.
  5. Take the tomato and dip in hot water for 10sec and take it out and remove the outer thin layer of the tomato. Then cut the tomato to small pieces.
  6. Take a frying pan and put it over the stove and ignite.
  7. Pour one tablespoon of oil.
  8. After the oil gets heated put sliced onion and saute it for 5minutes.
  9. Put the ginger , chilli and garlic and saute well till the onion gets a colour change.
  10. Add one tablespoon oil.
  11. Put the tomato and continue sauting for 5minutes.
  12. Now add the squid to the pan and saute slowly.
  13. Cover it and cook for about 10minutes.
  14. Now open and put the curry leaves and saute.
  15. Now put the grounded black pepper and saute.
  16. Now this is ready to serve.

Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
  1. Potatoes - 4
  2. Garlic - 2
  3. Butter - 50gms
  4. Salt 
  5. Pepper 
  6. Chives 
Method
  1. Wash and clean the potatoes, cut each of them into 4 pieces
  2. Put them in a pot/saucepan and add water till it is fully covered, add some sea salt and garlic and then bring them to boil. cook them until they are tender.  
  3. Drain the water and put the potatoes in a plate and mash them.
  4. Put these mashed potatoes back into a saucepan and put them on stove on a medium heat. 
  5. Stir them until they start stick to the bottom of the saucepan.
  6. Now add butter and mix them thoroughly
  7. Add chives, salt and pepper.
  8. Mashed Potatoes are ready to serve

Home made Bread

Required.

  1. All purpose flour - 2cups
  2. Egg- 1nos
  3. Sunflower Oil-2tablespoon
  4. Yeast-1/2 teaspoon
  5. Milk-1cup
  6. Sugar- 1/4 cup
How to make
  1. Mix flour and egg
  2. Then add sunflower oil and mix well
  3. Take 50ml lukewarm water and put the yeast in it and keep aside.
  4. Add sugar and mix well
  5. Add milk and mix well.
  6. Add yeast and make a dough.
  7. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and keep aside for 1 hour.
  8. Take and dough again and mix once again without adding anything.
  9. Transfer the dough to the loaf pan.
  10. Keep aside for another 90minutes.
  11. Now your dough will be double the size of the original dough.\
  12. Preheat your oven at 190degree.
  13. Transfer the loaf pan with the dough to the oven.
  14. Bake for 25minutes.
  15. Wait for 5minutes to open the oven door.
  16. Take the bread from the oven carefully, without touching your arms to the side of the oven.
  17. Slice the loaf into small.
  18. Serve it with your favourite dishes.

Banana Boli

Ingredients:
  1. 2 Ripe Bananas
  2. Atta / All purpose flour
  3. Rice flour
  4. Sugar
  5. Salt
  6. Water
  7. Egg (optional)
  8. Black sesame seeds (optional)
  9. Turmeric powder (optional)
  10. Coconut Oil

Preparation:
  1. Peel and slice the bananas into thin pieces.

ചക്കക്കുരു തോരൻ /chakkakuru (jackfruit seed) thoran

ചെയ്യേണ്ട വിധം 

  1. ചക്കകുരു വിന്റ്റെയ് പുറത്തേ വെളുത്ത തൊലീ  ചിരണ്ടുക.
  2. ചക്കകുരു  നാലായി മുറിക്കുക .
  3. മണ്‍ ചട്ടിയിൽ കുറച്ചു വെള്ളം ഒഴിച്ചു 
  4. അതിലേക്കു മുറിച്ചു വെച്ച ചക്കക്കുരുവും ആവശ്യത്തിനു ഉപ്പും ചേർക്കുക  
  5. ഇനി ചെറിയ തീയിൽ 15 മിനുട്ട്  വേവിക്കുക (മൂടി വെച്ച് വേണം വേവിക്കാൻ )
  6. ഈ സമയത്ത് തേങ്ങ ചിരണ്ടിയതും രണ്ടു പച്ച മുളകും , രണ്ടു ചെറിയ ഉള്ളിയും , കറിവേപ്പിലയും കൂടി മിക്സിയിൽ അരച്ച് എടുക്കുക.
  7.  ഇനി അരച്ച് വച്ചവ ചട്ടിയിലേ ചക്കക്കുരുവിന്റെയ് കൂടെ ചേർക്കുക .
  8. നന്നായി ഇളക്കിയിട്ടു മൂടി വെച്ച് 5 മിനിറ്റ്  കൂടി വേവിക്കണം .
  9. ചക്കകുരു തോരൻ തയ്യാറായി കഴിഞ്ഞു .
  10. ചോറി നോടൊപ്പം കഴിക്കാം

Home Made Chocolates

Cocoa powder - 1/4 cup Milk powder - 200gms Sugar - 1 cup water - 1/2 cup Butter - 1/4 cup Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp Nuts and raisins Take water and sugar in a saucepan and allow it to boil until it reaches 1 string consistency. Remove from fire and add butter to it. Once it melts down, add the milk powder, cocoa powder and vanilla essence. Mix really well until everything blends. Allow it to cool down for few minutes. Grease your hands slightly with butter. Pinch small portions of the chocolate and roll them into balls. Refrigerate for a while and wrap them in colored papers or arrange them in gift boxes :) Milk powder - 1 cup Cocoa powder - 3 tsp Icing sugar - 1/2 cup Condensed milk - 2 tbsp Butter - 1 -2 tsp Cashew Almond powder - 1 tsp Milk - 1/4 cup
